New Session, New Blog. [Please restore your accounts]

Hello Everyone

This new academic session, we aren’t the only ones who’ve all graduated a grade higher. ln(exun) has also changed! To enhance security and functionality, the blog is now powered by WordPress, an open-source Blogging Platform. I’ve imported all previous posts, comments and users from the old blog. However, for security reasons, all passwords and admin/author privileges have been reset.

In order to restore your accounts on the new blog, please go to the login page (anytime during the coming week) where you can login using your Google, Facebook, OpenID or Blogger account. Your user privileges will be manually restored within 24-hours of your first login. Sorry for the inconvenience, but security was our overriding concern. If you have any troubles logging in, send an email to EmailID describing your problem and we’ll get back to you asap.

After a little playing around with php, all old permalinks have been maintained. RSS Feed is now at http://www.lnexun.com/feed/. Although, the old rss url automatically redirects to the new feed url, I recommend updating your feed urls.

Any comments and suggestions on the design and functionality are welcome. We need a new logo for ln(exun). Any attempts/suggestions/ideas for the same will be appreciated.

  1. Requires a lot of work… though i’m glad we finally shifted to wordpress and i’m sure is a decision you wont come to regret.
Change the logo! ill try making some design drafts…

  2. yeah this theme’s somehow similar to the iphone UI ….. though i still like it .. 😀

  3. Guys, we will be modifying the theme considerably, I’m already tweaking it.

Please provide inputs and suggestions regarding colours, ergonomics, layout, fonts, etc

  4. http://www.woothemes.com/2008/11/typebased/ or http://atastypixel.com/blog/wordpress/themes/elegant-grunge/. Use either of those two, or customize thematic. Use a theme which has less of an intervening character of it’s own. Apart from that, install the subscribt to comments plugin, or more conveniently, just use IntenseDebate or Disqus (I personally prefer the latter). Please get rid of this theme. (and switch the comments picture to gravatar, if it isn’t already, because this theme screws even my Gravatar.

  5. Bhuwan. The shadows. Why?! Totally overshadows the date.

Sorry guys, one of us will remove the Bubbles ASAP.

    Any suggestions on alternate colours?

    (I don’t like the blue)

  6. @Sahil, Tanay: Sorry. Was a little busy. Removed all text-shadows. Working on a new theme. No bubbles.

@Vishesh: Thanks for the suggestions. Duly noted. Will install the plugins very soon. And we already have Gravatar. Already working on a new theme.

@Kush: Sorry, but comment moderation is required to stop spam. However, when logged in, your comment won’t need approval provided one of your previous comments were approved. The only exception is when you have 2 or more links in your comment.

  7. Google<<Wordpress, on grounds of being very anti-open source, and over all, rather evil losers anyways.

  8. http://webdesignledger.com/freebies/10-best-free-minimal-wordpress-themes Another list of great wp themes. http://rodrigogalindez.com/themes/modern-clix/ or http://www.press75.com/v4/the-seven-five-WordPress-theme/. Both from that list – my favourites. I have a substantial amount of experience with wordpress (running my own blog, and other sites as well). Hence, I ask you let me be an admin, and help you around with stuff. Would you add me as one?

  9. Nice to see WP being used now… Great work!
And yes, apart from the whole Google (Blogger) & WP comparison on basis of Open Source, even features & community support wise, WP.org>>Blogger>>WP.com

Hoping to see more activity here!
