Logo Design Competition : Ends 15th April

Hey guys,

Short notice, but I’d like our photoshoppers to check this out :
IIIT-D: Logo Contest

It’s a contest to design the logo of my college, entries till 15th only, though. I’d like to see Exun members taking away those prizes, which, by the way are :
Winner : Rs. 20,000
2 Runners ups : Rs 10,000

Cheers!

UPDATE : I asked the institute staff, they have agreed to accept watermarked jpegs also. Please mention clearly in the mail that you will submit the psd/etc. only if you win.

Hope that clears up the doubts!

  1. Guys, do read the rules and the agreement carefully before submitting your entries.
“The design must be submitted in high quality editable images (such as svg, ai, psd formats). These will become property of IIIT-Delhi. You maylso provide a brief write up of half a page describing your design.”

Just be entering into the contest, you give all rights of your entry to the institution. Sorry Rahul bhaiya, but this thing sounds phishy to me.

  2. how is it phishy Bhuwan ??
they will obviously want the rights to the design that you will make for ’em in case they want to actually make it their official logo….

  3. They’re asking for rights when you submit your entry. You should only transfer rights once you’ve won the contest.

  4. This is a common case of Spec Design Contest. Basically make loads of Designers work (for free), pick one of them and pay him some money. In return, you have rights to all the content submitted by all the designers.

There’s nothing “fishy” in this, but it’s more of un-ethical to hold such contests. And many designers discourage others from organizing/taking part in such contests. At the end of the day, it’s your decision!

PS: Can we have alternate text for atleast the image based buttons like the submit button?
