Android Developer Challenge

Hi,

First I want to say a quick thanks to Mr. Mukesh Kumar to get me introduced back to the club that we founded over 16 years ago!!

I was visiting India for personal reasons and a quick visit back to DPS brought back extreme nostalgia for the years gone by… Many things may have changed around here but a lot of the core things that made DPS great are still intact, and that’s a welcome relief!

I also wanted to take the opportunity to introduce EXUN members to Google’s Android Developer Challenge. This contest that will award $10 million to create applications for Google’s Android phone platform and will play out in two parts. The first phase has been completed and you can see the results at the ADC gallery.

The second contest will start after the launch of actual phones built on the Google Android platform (T-Mobile in the US has announced that the HTC Dream will be released there on Oct 22, 2008).

If there are any students out there that are interested in forming teams and taking part in the second portion of the contest, give me a shout and I will be more than happy to help guide/support/bounce ideas off. I would love to see at least one application submitted by EXUN… and even more if we have enough interest!

Until next time… Good luck to EXUN, Mr. Mukesh, and DPS!

  1. Hey Rahul! It’s a pleasure hearing from you and thanks for posting on lnexun. Current, we have our mid-terms going on, but, if there are people interested, I will try sending names right after they finish (ie 22nd October). Thanks!
