I find the input method quite interesting seems like they are employing some kind of multi touch click wheel. Looks like The Onion news agency's parody is about to come true.

However, one approach to new product development and innovation is the 'lead-user method' [web.mit.edu/evhippel/www/papers/Herstatt-EvH%20Journal%20Product%20Innov%20Management.pdf] developed at MIT Sloan. This approach allows companies to innovate on the basis of consumer needs yet to be serviced and on many occasions creates innovation based on customer speculation.
Ishita is the Apple insider now...she might shed more light on what's really happening! :).
