Delhi Public School Exchange

OK I want feedback on the following idea. We are increasingly getting exposed to the world of Stock Exchanges.. It is getting more intriguing to our generation on what these exchanges are and how they work.. We dont like to play on simulated stock exchange games that much as they tend to get boring . How about adding a twist? We construct a simulated Stock Exchange where we trade our own teachers instead of some boring companies. I have some sort of an “engine” lying with me.. I want feedback whether its worthwhile to have a ‘Delhi Public School Exchange’ ?

Yet another break-in

Yes, I know, it’s irritating!

Some policy changes:

(x) We don’t use FTP anymore
(x) We drop all packets that are not destined to port 22, 80 or 443.
(x) We now only support Secure FTP over SSH2
(x) Kerberized FTP will be soon made available

How does this effect you?

exunclan.com directly gets affected, since you probably use an FTP client to connect to it; to upload files. I recommend downloading FileZilla, an awesome FTP client that supports both SFTP over SSH2, and Kerberize FTP.

The idea is that both these services will be supported, and there shouldn’t be any major problem henceforth.

For the convenience of the blog maintainers, the Blogger settings have been updated to reflect SFTP over SSH2

Experimenting……

After the boards finished i had lots of free time and with no school it was getting boring so after days of experimenting with 3D Studio Max( i am now getting the hang of it)…. i came up with this. Plz give comments.

The Car is not my own idea its from an online tutorial . Rest(not much) is my own imagination.

Exun logo with reflection and refraction took a lot of time for figuring out the matirials.

Hell freezes over

Mac do windows too…

yes , it true . apple now gives users an official way to boot XP on your mac.
Apple has released “bootcamp ” that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac . its available as a public beta here .

Bootcamp creates CD with all drivers for the hardware and a new partition onto which you can then load windows ( using your own copy ) and you can choose between the two during start up . Just make sure you have an intel mac and enough space on your drive .

apple says this technology will be a feature in its next edition of mac OSX( leopard).

PS – the screen shot says -“pull divider to change size of partition” , sweet !

Words

It has been some time since anyone put up any programming questions on lnexun, so I figured I might be the one to upset the status quo. The following is the background you need for the questions.

So there is a string. Nothing special about it. Just your common everyday collection of ASCII characters. Then there is is person A. The only string operations person A is capable of performing are adding, removing, replacing (and choosing to do nothing to) one character in the string at a time. To clarify, he may only look at one character from the string he is working on at a time and then choose to perform either of the said operations on it. He is then free to look at any other character.

Q1. Suppose we give person A strings ‘a’ and ‘b’. I want your program to calculate, given these two strings, the minimum number of operations A needs to perform on a to convert it to b. There is no reason for len(a) to be equal to len(b).
Q2. (Harder) Tell me how (any one way) he would perform the conversion from a to b.

Email answers to [email protected]. Any questions go in the comments.

BTW I saw these on a programming contest we did for the local highschools. You guys could probably do the rest in your sleep, so I gave you the one that noone got. Don’t let that deter you, it’s very doable.

Happy hacking.

we are sorry for inconvenience

Hello
And welcome to EXUN 2006-07

As you all might know that you are EXUN members. Exun stands for Experts Unlimited.
Exun is the Computer Club of DPS RK Puram.
But you guys already knew that. Also, this is not the point of my post

My point is that since we call ourselves members of a computer club, we should:
1. Be Blazing Fast with whatever we do and not sit on our jobs.
2. Be technologically sound!!
3. Google anything we dont know about.
4. If you cant find it on Google. Go to Wikipedia.
5. Have read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
6. Know the answer to the question,”What happens when you search for Jawahar Singh on Google?”^^^^^^

Now coming to the real point of all points that I want to point out.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND LNEXUN ATLEAST ONCE IN 2 DAYS.

Also, since we are members of a computer club, it is necessary that we all have email ids to say the least(next on the list, portable mp3 players.). And no, the hostellers arent excused.

And so, for those of you who do not have email ids, please make them, or ask for GMAIL invites.
And for those who do have email ids, please share them with us.

And for those whose email ids are nowhere to be found on the exunclan website, please tell us what they are.*

signing off

PS: Always keep a towel handy
PPS: You will have to read H2G2** to understand the PS and the title

* That was actually the main point of this post
** H2G2 – Hitchhikers Guide…..

^^^^^^- Jawahar Singh is a former exun member. The result was: Jawahar Singh is dead. Although you might not find this result anymore. This question has been asked in Exun Quizzes. Quizzers please take note.

Google Romance Beta

new google announcement on April 1st

http://www.google.com/romance/

Q. What do you mean when you say Google Romance is a beta product?

What do you mean when you ask us what we mean when we say Google Romance is a beta product? It is what is it, okay? It’s new, it’s probably still buggy, which is to say that yes, by using this product now you conceivably are setting yourself up for a disastrous outcome – but on the other hand, you might also be on the verge of thrilling to an experience that will transform your very existence and only could have come about because you took this step, right here, right now. You’re online; take a chance. We may never pass this way again. Carpe diem. The world could, like, end tomorrow, you know? Gather ye rosebuds while —

This is hilarious , hats off to google . Another one in the bag.
