Though released long time back, I havent heard many people talking about it.
The Windows Desktop Search is MUCH MUCH BETTER than GOOGLE DESKTOP SEARCH. For starters it scans a lot more files on your hard disk and you can also search for a specific type of file. And if you are also like me who uses outlook express, then no more waiting to search for your messages! Besides, it also has add-ins one of them which also lets you search for .pdf files on your computer. And not to forget, it also has a Preview Pane, which lets you view the file without opening it. And all this within a second(speed of google). Obviously it takes time to index all the files but i guess its worth it in the end if you have a huge hard disk and totally detest the search embedded with your OS.

I also remember a discussion happening on this blog – Internet Explorer vs Firefox
and one of the major reasons that firefox won the battle besides the security factor was “Tabbed Browsing”. But guess what, interent explorer also provides you that now.
