To the Abhisheyk and Ishita – We were all waiting for a post on this, but it never came. Please, do your job. We still don’t know who’s going for what.

Meeting on 21/04/05

There will be a meeting of all members on April 21,2005(Thursday) in Lab 4 right after the 3rd period. We have quite a few things on our agenda.Firstly, the teams for CyberFest 2005, being held on April 26th-27th,2005 have to be finalized.I will be posting the details of the event soon.

Something BIG this way comes…

I would like to put a stop to all the rumours and answer a few prayers.
Domain Square 2005 is gearing up and is ‘Coming soon’.
Therefore fasten your seatbelts.
If you are feeling restless you may register now by sending a mail to [email protected] and a seat will be reserved.
But if you think you can wait a little longer, do wait.
The Competition dates will be finalized, posters will be put up etc. and the registeration time will be aplenty.

P.S. Domain Square is a divine group started by Master Karan Misra for avid gamers and I might add that gaming isn’t just for fun. It is an important part of interschool compute symposia.

Thanking You
Manas Gautam(Tell ppl to stop bugging you Abhisheyk!!!)

Yahoo! 360 Invites available

If you need a Yahoo! 360 invitation, please leave a comment. You are sure to receive one.

It’s just another blogging and photo sharing tool from Yahoo!

You have to keep one thing in mind – due to some inexplicable policy, you have to be above 18 to use this service. So, when you sign up, choose an appropriate date for your DoB or change your current settings.

PS – such invites are not easy to find, so please don’t ask for one for the heck of it.

Google Maps – Navigate the Earth , Dynamically!

Online search-engine leader Google has unveiled a new feature enabling users to zoom in on homes and businesses using satellite images, an advance that may raise privacy concerns as well as intensify the competitive pressures on its rivals.

This marks the first time since the deal closed that Google has offered free access to Keyhole’s high-tech maps through its search engine. Users previously had to pay $29.95 to download a version of Keyhole’s basic software package.

A more traditional map will continue to be the first choice served up by Google’s search engine.

Users will have the option of retrieving a satellite picture by clicking on a button.

According to Keyhole’s general manager, John Hanke, there is little reason for people to be paranoid about the satellite maps because the images generally are six to 12 months old. “And it’s not like you are going to be able to read a license plate on a car or see what an individual was doing when a particular image was taken,” he also added. Google’s free satellite maps initially will be limited to North America, with images covering roughly half the United States.

Not everyone will be happy about their homes being viewable on the Web, even if they do look tiny and fuzzy. Some privacy advocates are urging Google to offer an online “opt-out” feature that would let people type in their addresses to have their homes blurred or blanked out from Google’s public-image database.
